Your Councillors by Political Grouping

Local Councillors are elected by the community to decide how the council should carry out its various activities. They represent public interest as well as individuals living within the ward in which they have been elected.

Tandridge District Council has 43 Councillors, elected for a four year term of office. The District is divided into 18 wards. Elections take place by thirds, meaning that a third of the Council is elected each year. County Council elections take place in the fourth year.

Councillors have regular contact with the general public through council meetings, emails, telephone calls or surgeries.

Councillors are not paid a salary for their work, but they do receive an allowance. By law, all members of the Council are required to complete a declaration of interest form, the details of which are published annually.
